A Third Culture Kid (TCK) is broadly described as someone who grew up in a culture different from the one in which their parents were raised.

For sensitive and empathic TCKs, this sense of difference is often more complex, as their heightened sensitivity and empathy can deepen feelings of disconnection, anxiety, and identity struggles.
